Celebrate Life Everyday - July '13 Tag

Here is my version of Tim Holtz' July '13 Tag.
I used the Mini Old Glory die and cut additional stars to use on my tag.
I was reminded this month how quickly things can change and that is important to live everyday.

My May Tag Inspired by Tim Holtz

Just in time, I was able to finish my tag for May. I played with the Remnant Rubs. They were easy to use, and I really liked the choice of words and phrases. I was able to find just the right words to add to the charm. Then I added Glossy Accents to seal them on the charm.

Inspired by Tim Holtz's April 2013 Tag

LOVE the new Distress Paints!!!!!
I really like that you can dry a layer then add more color without changing the first layer. It took a little practice (first background didn't quite turn out, but I did save it to use later).

It works great on the metal embellishment pieces. The number 13 almost looks the the paint has started to peel off. For the corner piece, I used the Distress Paint, dried the paint and sanded the raised areas. It created a worn metal look. I didn't use the Metallic Distress Stains because they haven't arrived yet.

DIY Slider Bracelets

I was impressed at how easy the Cousin DIY bracelets were that I went to Joann Fabrics and purchased the slider bracelet pieces.
I wanted to try something using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral dies.
First, I cut an assortment of flowers from some old pairs of blue jeans.

Next, I used the Tattered Angels Glam in Chandelier to add some sparkle and stiffness to the flowers. After they dried, I stacked them some right side up and some wrong side up to vary the colors.

I sewed them together with a waxed linen thread with copper beads for the centers. I attached them with the waxed linen tread to the band. Last, I followed the directions to attach the clasp. It was very easy to do.

January 2013 Tag

It has been a very crazy month. I almost didn't get my Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 for January done, but I just finished it. The best part of this tag was using the archival ink to stamp on the ribbon. This will create opportunities to personalize the ribbon for each project. It's hard to see in the picture, but stop by Cafe Crop to see the finished project.

October's Spooky Tag

My October Tag for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2012.

I used the Pumpkin Jack, Mini Silly Jack-o-Lantern face and the Halloween Shadows die. Connie used the pumpkin for one of our recent Make It Take It projects and I thought it would work perfect for my tag. I used blues and greens for the background with a yellow moon. I used the Ranger's Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter for the pumpkin's face and the words.

It still needed something so I added the little bats on the moon.

Perfect!

I added one extra surprise.

I just happened to have some glow in the dark paint in my stash. Every time I turned the lights out in my craft room the bottle would glow. Finally found a cool way to use it. I know I will be making a few more of these.
